Dolisieformerly called Loubomo (until the national conference of 1991) is the third city of the Republic of Congo, located in the center of the axis Pointe-Noire Brazzaville. It is located in the Niari region, of which it is the chief town. The city is connected by the national road 1 as well as by therailway Congo-Ocean (CFCO) to the two main cities of the country, Brazzaville (350 km) and Pointe-Noire, as well as in Gabon which is about200 kilometers to the north. Its current mayor is Paul Adam Dibouilou, who succeeded Jean-Michel Mavoungou-Ngot.

The city was first the Mfoa station in the Teke territory of Nkuna. It was founded by the French explorer, Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza, on October 3, 1880 and from which the city takes its name. The President of the Republic of Congo is Mr. Denis SASSOU N'GUESSO.
