Description
Reunion Island is a French department of the Indian Ocean. It is famous for its volcanic interior covered with rainforest, its coral reefs and beaches. Its most emblematic site is the Piton de la Fournaise, an active volcano that can be climbed and rises to an altitude of 2,632 meters. The Piton des Neiges, a huge extinct volcano, and the 3 calderas of Reunion (natural amphitheatres formed by volcanoes that have collapsed) are also climbing spots.
